The report, Fatigue, Risk and Excellence: Towards a Pan-Canadian Consensus on Resident Duty Hours provides clear principles and recommendations to guide residents, educators, administrators and governments across Canada. The result is ground-breaking blueprint intended to help shape Canadian postgraduate medical education, both now and in the future.

Recognizing that the status quo as pertains to resident duty hours is not acceptable, the National Steering Committee proposes five key principles for resident duty hours and provides recommendations that all health care stakeholders should consider regarding resident duty hours.
